Position : Social Media Director
Job Description : As a Social Media Manager with Wegmans, you will use a data-driven approach to develop and implement a social media content strategy for multiple platforms, determining which initiatives work best and capitalizing on opportunities to scale our business and increase exposure. You will work towards the Wegmans brand social goals by building a skilled social media team and manage the day-to-day implementation of our digital strategy. You’ll be empowered to lead the creation of content on all social media platforms aiming to grow our audience and increase customer engagement and experience with our brand.
What will I do?
Increase brand engagement across platforms by developing and refining content strategies, relying on data, experience, and analytics to measure and establish goals for exposure
Develop and implement a content strategy specific to each platform, ensuring brand consistency and alignment with company messaging
Lead content creation and implementation, ensuring we post unique yet on brand content
Oversee a team of skilled social media professionals, scaling the team as needed to meet evolving business priorities
Inspire a culture of empowerment in an environment that is agile and fast paced, and foster this new way of thinking across our business
Establish the influencer model to connect with target audiences, increase number of shares, likes, comments, etc. and positively affect engagement scores
Stay up-to-date on emerging social media trends, assess new social platforms and opportunities, and make proactive and informed recommendations to leadership to evolve alongside the social climate
Collaborate with insights, public relations, store operations, merchandising, creative and marketing planning to stay connected to business priorities and communicate our social strategy
Required Qualifications:
5 or more years’ professional experience as a Social Media Manager/Strategist or Digital Content Strategist
Experience using Google Analytics and monitoring SEO strategy in partnership with SEO Manager
Experience building content frameworks, and/or strategies that grow and engage communities on social media
Experience working with art directors, copywriters, designers, and videographers to produce assets optimized for social
Demonstrated knowledge on the latest digital media, online behaviors, and trends
Strong understanding of best practices and passion for crafting both paid and organic content across all social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
Detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to quickly build credibility, gain influence, and make recommendations with leadership across business units
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Experience overseeing a social media team
