The location of this position is currently in Anchorage. The position may be located in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau dependent upon the location of the most qualified candidate.
Who we are:
This position serves as the lead accountant for the facilities construction program, which manages the Municipal Loan Program, Clean Water and Drinking Water Revolving Loan Programs, and Village Safe Water program. These programs provide grant and loan funding to Alaska communities to plan, design, and construct sanitation and water quality related projects. This position supervises three accounting/grant related positions.

The Division of Administrative Services provides support services for all department programs. Centralized administrative support includes accounting, fiscal management, economic analysis, budget development, human resources, procurement, property control, contract and federal grants administration, information technology services, capital construction, facility maintenance and repair, and office space planning.

Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities in accounting, budgeting, or financial management, equivalent to those typically gained by:
a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related area of study, and two (2) years of responsible professional experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial management, preferably in the public sector.
NOTE TO APPLICANTS:

When calculating education to experience equivalents:
Undergraduate credits: 2.67 sem/4 qtr hrs = 1 month
Associate Degree = 2 years
Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years
Graduate credits: 2 sem/3 qtr hrs = 1 month
Master’s Degree = 5 years
