Job Description : Additive Manufacturing Technician: Vertex Manufacturing, a Cincinnati-based advanced technology contract manufacturing company, is looking for a machine technician.In this role you will be part of a growing production team dedicated to bringing metal Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) into production. You will play a critical role in the manufacturing of metal parts for a variety of industries including aerospace and medical. This position will involve operating and maintaining multiple 3D metal printing machines. In this role you will be responsible for preparing jobs, running the machines, maintaining machines, and managing the waste stream in a production manufacturing environment.Responsibilities: Keep a clean and organized shop floorPrepare build jobs using specialty 3D printing softwareMove, load and track metal powderPrepare, operate, and maintain additive manufacturing machinesRemove powder from buildsOperate rotary tools to remove supports from partsFollow established procedures and work instructions related to the creation of production parts using 3D PrintingQualifications: Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalentHighly motivated and reliableAbility to adapt and work in a fast-paced environmentComfortable using rotary toolsAbility to learn new softwareGood computer skills (word, excel, email)High mechanical aptitudeMust be a US citizenMust be able to lift 50 lbsBe willing to wear a respiratorThe following are preferred but not required:Understanding of basic principles of additive manufacturingBasic knowledge of CADAbout Vertex Manufacturing: Vertex was founded in early 2020 as a contract manufacturing company specializing in advanced CNC machining and additive manufacturing. In mid-2021, Vertex merged with PrinterPrezz, a San Francisco-based company focused primarily on additive manufacturing of medical devices as well as other industrial components. Today, Vertex is in the process of building out a state-of-the-art facility in the Cincinnati area that will exceed 70,000 sq.ft. that will house the latest CNC and additive manufacturing technologies.
