Job Description : Position InformationWork Location: 15986 SH 155, Tyler, Texas 75703Job Title: Maintenance Support Tech III, IV, or VJob ID: 123683Salary Range: $29439.00 – $58399.00 yearlyGeneral DescriptionMaintenance Support Tech IIIPerforms administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with private entities. Work usually involves confidential and sensitive correspondence and communications. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.Additional responsibilities for Maintenance Support Tech IVPerforms advanced technical and administrative support related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with private entities. Work usually involves confidential and sensitive correspondence and communications. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to thesupervisor but are handled at the occurrence.Additional responsibilities for Maintenance Support Tech VPerforms highly-advanced technical and administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Coordinates activities for one or more projects and/or specialized programs. May serve as a lead worker. Work requires contact with high-level managers, executives, governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.DutiesThe essential duties for the Maintenance Support Tech III include:Answers the telephone, evaluates requests, answers questions, routes messages and/or serves as receptionist or front desk assistant.Assists district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment.Assists in preparing monthly and final maintenance contract estimates.Assists others in the use of personal computer and/or software applications.Conducts monthly spot inventories, verifies inventory findings, reconciles and coordinates with Business Services on adjustments needed.Maintains and updates office files/records/logs and a wide variety of automated systems in support of personnel, finance, budgeting, maintenance, inventory, contracts, purchasing, travel and information and/or permitting activities.Provides assistance to the public.Processes receipts/bills for payment.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.The essential duties for the Maintenance Support Tech IV include all of the above and:Monitors and assists with maintenance contract record-keeping activities.Prepares complex statistical reports and verifies for accuracy and completeness.Reviews and processes records of completed maintenance projects.Schedules meetings, appointments and makes travel arrangements.The essential duties for the Maintenance Support Tech V include all of the above and:Evaluates and researches information to solve complex customer service problems.May serve as a lead worker.Trains other clerical or technical staff.Physical RequirementsSedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small toolsLight work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbsSitting – prolonged periods of timeStanding-prolonged periods of timeRepetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingersClose Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive readingCompetenciesThe required competencies for the Maintenance Support Tech III include:Communicate effectivelyOffice management practices and proceduresAutomated record-keeping methodsApplicable computer systems and applicationsPurchasing methods and proceduresShows initiative and action beyond what is required to improve products or services; is self-starting and completes assignments independently without constant supervisionProtects sensitive and confidential informationMaintaining effective working relationships with othersThe responsibilities associated with administrative practices and procedures to include writing, editing and report writing techniques, recording meeting notes, record keeping and records managementUsing computers and applicable programs, applications and systemsThe required competencies for the Maintenance Support Tech IV include all of the above and:Inventory/stock control proceduresDealing courteously and effectively with the publicMaintaining a safe working relationshipThe required competencies for the Maintenance Support Tech V include all of the above and:Contract record-keepingProviding prompt and courteous customer service; advising customers when delays are necessary and following up on identified problems until resolvedPreparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reportsEducationThis job requires the following:High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studiesWork ExperienceThe Maintenance Support Tech III requires:2 years in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience.(Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)The Maintenance Support Tech IV requires:3 years in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience.(Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)The Maintenance Support Tech V requires:4 years in in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience.
