Job Description : POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Napoleon’s Bakery Assistant Plant ManagerREPORTS TO: Napoleon’s Bakery Plant ManagerSTATUS: ExemptDATE: April 2021LOCATION: Napoleon’s Bakery Plant*POSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Napoleon’s Bakery Plant Manager this position is primarily responsible to manage daily production including quality, sanitation and safety standards, production planning (including holiday, special occasions and new items), employee training and support of the management team to achieve corporate goals.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Manage product quality, investigate and solve quality issues, make recommendations for improvement. Track changes in consistency and quality for continuous improvement.2. Supervise and train employees on SOP, GMP, HACCP, FDA and Hawaii State Department of Health standards for proper food handling and sanitation.3. Develop and create new products, taking into consideration market trends and corporate strategies. Complete with recipe costing, yields, notification to other departments, ordering of special ingredients, monitor sales trends and adjust as needed.4. Conducts employee assessments, following up regularly on areas for improvement, and maintaining documentation.5. Achievement of food cost, labor and sales goals to achieve a positive EBIDTA.QUALIFICATIONS:Scheduling:Flexible with work schedule, available for any shift, any day.Physical Ability:Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push up to 350 poundsStanding/walking up to 6 to 8 hours a dayReaching/bending frequentlyMental Ability:Good decision-making skills (uses independent judgment)Planning/organizational skillsAble to calculate baking formulas using bakers percentage; strong math skills * Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language required * Ability to understand financial data and make appropriate decisions for improvementPre-Employment Requirements:Must pass pre-employment physical, TB or Mantoux test, and drug screening.Environmental Conditions:Ability to tolerate extreme temperature conditions (refrigeration, freezer, and hot kitchen areas).Able to work with flour in the environmentEducation:High School diploma or GED.Trade school or Technical school diploma (Baking and Pastry)2 years college preferredExperience:Minimum of 5 years in the baking industryMinimum 1 year in a management positionRetail bakery experience preferred, multi unit or large box storeKnowledge and experience with computer skills, email, creating excel or google spreadsheets, Word and Docs.Desired Skills:Ability to operate various bakery equipmentHighly skilled in baking techniques with a variety of yeast doughs, cake decorating, laminated doughs, creams and fillings, individual desserts.Ability to trainDesired Attributes:Demonstrates the company’s Core Values of “Commitment, Humble, Integrity, Passionate, Supportive”.Self-directed, motivated individual with the ability to work with management personnel, operational staff, and multiple departments.Action-oriented (exercising initiative to follow-up and follow through)High level of accuracyAbility to work under minimal supervisionAbility to handle stressful situationsTeam playerDisclaimer:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
