The Hospital Director of Supply Chain and Materials will join a nonprofit community hospital that has compassionately served its community for over 100 years. The hospital offers many services to its patients, including orthopedics, infusion center, cardiopulmonary, and many specialty clinics throughout the community. The Executive and Leadership team within the hospital has a positive vision for the facility’s service. Their primary mission is to be a hospital where patients choose to go, and people want to work. With the work of the outstanding staff creating a hospitable environment for patients and each other, the hospital has been able to accomplish and keep at this mission.
The Director of Supply Chain and Materials will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. In addition, the Director will report in weekly meetings with C-Suite executives to discuss all supply chain and materials operations to ensure the hospital is running successfully and each department’s material needs are being met. The Director will also work closely with other department directors to understand each department’s needs and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
As Director of Supply Chain and Materials, this person will oversee the materials management of the entire hospital and several clinics. This person will have the opportunity to ensure all activities are consistent with the goal of a streamlined procurement process to maximize opportunities via HPG or QHR approved GPO contracts and negotiations. The Director will also have the chance to develop and report on Material Management Quality Indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and track improvement efforts. This person must also manage the departmental budget by utilizing appropriate data collections and analysis and reporting monthly budget variances. The Director must also provide direction and assistance in the daily performance of the material management staff. The Director will also have the chance to provide information and gain employee input by conducting monthly staff meetings.
