Job Description : Death though heart-wrenching can be beautiful. Its rituals can be meaningful, and disposition of the body can be gentle and natural.
Recompose is an ecological death care company based in Washington State. When we opened our facility in Kent, WA in December 2020, we became the first full-service funeral home in the world to offer NOR services (natural organic reduction), where human bodies are converted into soil. We are building the Recompose model to offer an authentic, participatory experience for families and a natural return to the earth for the dead. Our newest facility is scheduled to open in Seattle in April 2022.
Recompose is seeking to add a Client Experience Specialist to our growing team. This person will be the first point of contact for many of Recomposes community members and future clients. They will frequently communicate Recomposes process and mission and must be able to speak about death in a straightforward and gentle manner. The role will be physically based at the front desk of our new facility in Seattle and will help maintain the space. Responsibilities will also include answering questions from the public about Recompose and the NOR process, greeting friends and family as they arrive to attend a laying-in funeral service, and supporting customers as they sign up for Precompose, our preplanning option. The Client Experience Specialist will report to the Director of Client Experience.
This role will help us build an intentional culture of hospitality and inclusion that we will maintain as we grow. This person should be passionate about helping Recompose create a radical new death care paradigm and about helping to heal the environment through this work.
