Position : Coordinator of Education Preparation Programs
Job Description : Re-advertisement: Previous applicants will need to re-apply to be considered. The Virginia Department of Education, Office of Teacher Education, is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to provide support and program expertise in the development, implementation, and evaluation of teacher education preparation programs and initiatives to support and enhance the teaching profession. This position is responsible for providing administrative support and technical assistance during the teacher education preparation program national accreditation process and endorsement approval process.
Minimum Qualifications
Considerable experience and knowledge of teacher education preparation programs and licensure.
Knowledge of national accreditation process of preparation programs ( i.e. CAEP, NCATE, TEAC).
Comprehensive knowledge of English grammar and usage, as well as demonstrated written, verbal, interpersonal communication with a variety of audiences.
Knowledge and skill in research methodologies, program assessment and evaluation.
Demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritize large volumes of work so as to complete work within established guidelines
Demonstrate the ability to interpret, analyze and explain complex procedures, guidelines, and regulations and prepare and explain comprehensive reports.
Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as with other team members.
Demonstrated ability to keep abreast of changing regulations and adapt procedures and processes as required.
Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in the program review and evaluation process.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience in office environments is preferred including a broad range and variety of program support, managing large volumes of work independently; answering telephone calls and meeting established timelines.
Comprehensive knowledge of computer technology and database management systems
Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
Successful candidate must pass a criminal background check.
We are currently hybrid teleworking due to COVID-19 two days per week.
