The Director of Enrollment Management plays a vital role in the Friends School community, leading a professional and highly personal admission and enrollment process. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Enrollment Management is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. As part of the school’s recruitment, enrollment, retention, and re-enrollment efforts, the Director of Enrollment Management oversees the administration of the admission and financial aid & remission budgets; all admission processes and records; all admission events and constituent volunteer efforts; all recruitment, enrollment and matriculation efforts, up to welcoming new families to school; and all retention and re-enrollment processes.The Director of Enrollment Management is responsible for providing initiative and leadership as part of an enrollment management mindset, including understanding the strategic and operational components of enrollment and the research necessary to inform decision-making in addition to the oversight of student recruitment, financial aid, enrollment and retention efforts.Most importantly, the Director of Enrollment Management serves as a model of the school’s culture and core values, the Friends School philosophy and creates excitement about its programs and philosophy among all constituents.Responsibilities including but not limited to:Lead the admission process and set the tone and vision for attracting, enrolling, and retaining a strong, diverse, mission-appropriate student bodySchedule, coordinate and conduct tours, interviews, events, applicant visits and assessments; obtain all necessary information for each applicantServe as strategic partner with the Head of School and other members of the Senior Leadership TeamBuild and maintain relationships with partner schools, fostering collegial relationshipsCollaborate with members of the Senior Leadership Team on the following essential functions:Formulate and implement an annual Admission and Enrollment Action Plan, based on data, with measurable goals and objectivesCreate and oversee the school’s enrollment and financial aid & remission budgets and strategiesEnsure that enrollment efforts reflect the school’s commitment to access, equity and cultural competency in all of its practicesImplement a wide variety of marketing initiatives, including events, personal outreach and community and parent engagementCoordinate and encourage retention across all programs in support of all current studentsGeneral expectations for all Friends School employees, including but not limited to:Maintain congruence between the school’s mission and all activitiesPromote and advance the cognitive, emotional, social and physical well-being of all studentsSupport student learning through community connectionsSupport in educating parents about the Friends School values and program through all correspondence and parent educational eventsPreserve and participate in school traditions and ritualsMaintain common spaces and outdoor environment and materials attractively and in support of learningFulfill duties and cover classes or responsibilities during absences of other teachers as appropriateParticipate in regular meetings to address routine matters and stimulate an exchange of educational and philosophically aligned ideasParticipate in the school’s hiring processes as appropriate/necessaryAssist in evening and weekend events as appropriate/necessarySet personal yearly goals with the appropriate supervisor and seek out and participate in staff development opportunitiesParticipate in annual staff evaluationOther duties as assignedRequirementsA thorough grounding in all forms of enrollment management, with an emphasis on discovering, evaluating, and enrolling mission-fit studentsKnowledgeable of admission “best practices”A background and understanding of assessment of children including preschool, Kindergarten, elementary and middle school agesA significant understanding of need-based financial aid and its administration within budgetary constraints and in service to the school’s values and compositional prioritiesCommitment to and strategies for effectively cultivating prospective families from diverse backgroundsA personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and experience creating inclusive programmingExperience using technology to perform job functions, including: email, word processing, spreadsheets, password management tools, mail merge, online database systems for inquiry, application, and contact creation.An interest in and experience with marketing and communications and ability and willingness to collaborate with the marketing and communications director.Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university;
