Position : General Production Worker – 2nd shift
Job Description : WHO YOU ARE and AVAILABLE SHIFTSYou will operate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic equipment (automatic, semiautomatic, and manual) to fabricate, finish, or package products. It is a 600,000 sq. ft. manufacturing distribution and office facility.WHAT YOU WILL DOLoad raw products/materials onto a moving conveyor system and unload finished products from a moving conveyor system.Cut shelving to various lengths as directed and stack shelving onto pallets.Operate cartooning equipment and vacuum-assisted lifting devices.Follow the available Job Instruction Breakdowns (JIBs) and on-the-job training for all tasks.Handle materials to and from the production line.Perform material handling duties on a forklift or primer mover if certified.Utilize special handling equipment to aid in the movement or positioning of materials.Count, identify, and weigh materials as required.Maintain specific quality standards by performing all checks as required by the quality sampling procedures.Maintain acceptable production rates and pursue continuous improvement.Complete all necessary paperwork and computer input as requested.Use common hand tools, gauges, measuring devices, pallet jacks, and other handling equipment to perform job functions.Read, understand, and respond to instruction.Understand and complete basic math equations.Expected to become skilled at identifying product names, codes, labels, ID numbers, and associated components.Maintain good housekeeping of assigned area.Must display safe work practices and habits.Perform running adjustments, minor preventative maintenance on equipment, complete standard setups/changeovers on equipment (only when required and approved by the department supervisor)REQUIREMENTSAbility to work in a team environment and maintain regular attendance.Must be able to work overtime based on business needs.Demonstrate the ability to perform all required tasks in the Roller Welder/Epoxy Paint Line/Coater/C-Cell/Packaging departments.PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDSPhysical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand on a concrete floor with/without floor mats for 12 hours; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms (which may include above and/or below shoulders); bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to use left and/or right hand for simple grasping; fine work, pushing/pulling, and low-speed assembly. The employee is required to walk, climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside hot and cold weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
