We are looking for an Import Assistant to join Boscov’s Import Team.
As a member of Boscov’s Import Team, this individual will assist in the coordination of Boscov’s US Customs entry files, use web-based logistics systems, create reports, and communicate with Buyers, Vendors, Logistics Partners and Coworkers. As the Import Coordinator, you will :
Follow internal procedures to create compliant US Customs entry files, both digitally and with paper.
Correspond in English via email and voice with Buyers, vendors, service providers, and colleagues, always maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
Maintain current record keeping system, both digitally and physically, for compliant US Customs entry files.
Work closely and collaborate with fellow Import team associates, Buyers, vendors, and service providers, as required, to accomplish special projects.
Be a critical thinker with a willingness to cross train to learn new duties within the Import Department and assist in them as needed.
Maintain Item Master.
Provide reporting, as well as audit support.
Perform other duties, as required.
The best candidate will have:
The ability to gain an understanding of internal company policies and procedures, as well as maintaining compliance to US Customs regulations. This includes learning the requirements for maintaining compliant Customs documentation.
Windows and Microsoft Office skills to include: Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to learn additional internal and web-based systems. Previous experience with Adobe DC Pro, and web based tracking software is a plus.
Analytical skills with the ability to create reports in Excel.
Experience maintaining an accurate filing system, both digitally and with paper, for use in compliance audits, while maintaining internal record keeping requirements.
Excellent communications skills, written and verbal, with the ability to work and learn in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Ability to prioritize duties in order to handle various tasks simultaneously, and sometimes within demanding time constraints.
Experience in a retail environment, working within an Import or Financial Department, or working closely with an Import Team. An Associate degree is a plus.
