Position : Junior Buyer
Job Description : General Description: The Jr. Buyer is responsible for day to day purchasing activities for production in facilities also including obtaining raw materials and samples for testing purposes as needed. The Buyer will place purchase orders and sample requests, create contracts, and prepare RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs as needed. The candidate will update procurement system input, cost models, and maintain supplier metrics necessary for effective reporting and communication with management and manufacturing sites.Essential Job Functions: Order raw materials and samples for testing as needed from designated suppliersPlace purchase orders or procurement for productionIdentify opportunities for consolidation of purchases to less suppliers and through most effective ordering processesIdentify suppliers for requested needs and obtain RFQ’sCreate contracts for repetitive purchases or servicesFollow up on items not delivered on timeWork closely with the stockroom manager to ensure appropriate ongoing inventoryMaintain Procurement Systems information – supplier list, contracts, pricing, etc.Ensure all purchases are consistent with quality and delivery requirements.Travel Requirements to facilities and to suppliers: 10-15% as neededAll other duties as assignedSkills and Qualifications: RequiredUnderstanding of standard purchasing and supply chain conceptsStrong supplier management skillsExcellent organizational and follow up skillsAbility to learn company products and raw materialsSolid experience in use of ERP systemPreferred1-3 years of sourcing experience within Indirect Procurement with a focus in building materialsEffective Communication SkillsAbility to build strong internal and external Working RelationshipsCan plan and OrganizeAbility to work in a fast paced environmentAbility to work independentlyEducational Requirements: Required Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience in Supply ChainJob Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceHealth savings accountPaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Purchasing Agents: 1 year (Preferred)Procurement: 1 year (Preferred)Purchasing: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
