Job Description : Loan Servicing ManagerSalary: $111,000 /year+ DOEStart a career with First National Bank Alaska, the *Best Place to Work in Alaska* as recognized six years in a row by Alaska Business magazine readers.GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARYManages all loan servicing functions for Investor loan and Bank held loan portfolios by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Manages the consolidated loan servicing functions to ensure compliance with Investor/Insurer guidelines, Federal Regulations, and bank policies.Analyzes and monitors federal and state regulations and laws governing loan servicing operations and develops and implements procedures to ensure compliance. Maintains industry “Best Practice” awareness to formulate and manage operational procedures to improve organization’s loan servicing operations efficiency and effectiveness.Oversees the residential mortgage loan subservicing contract with our vendor to ensure overall and day-to-day compliance with regulation and investor guidelines while ensuring an outstanding customer experience. Coordinates activities across divisions to ensure a strong vendor management program is in place for this vendor.Collaborates with other bank stakeholders on the development of new or specialty loan products as a subject matter expert to ensure loans will function as intended on the system. Reviews and analyzes Fiserv release notes to ensure understanding of updates and the implications on the loan portfolio.Reviews, responds, and resolves internal bank audits, external exams (OCC) Government Guarantor and Insurer Audits (FHA, VA, HUD, Rural Development), Housing Finance Agency Audits (AHFC), Investor Audits (e.g. FNMA, Habitat for Humanity, Neighborworks etc) and Quality Control Reviews. Propose and implement appropriate changes, ensures follow-up action and training is completed.Handles files with escalated, most complex servicing issues; handles servicing situations not covered by policies, regulations or guidelines; responds to customer complaints; consults with and responds to various bank officers and management regarding servicing challenges on bank-held and investor loans; advises various bank staff on loan servicing questions.Manages procedure and policy training for all units in the Section.Responds to outside-agency Request for Proposals regarding loan servicing rights; researches and makes recommendations regarding loan portfolio purchases to Senior Management.Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.BUSINESS CONTINUITY RESPONSIBILITIESMaintains and implements operational components of the business unit’s Business Continuity Plan; conducts periodic tests, cross trains and evaluates delegates’ ability to perform critical and essential functions to restore operations.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESManages the Loan Servicing Section and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making recommendations regarding the hiring and terminating of employees. Provides oversight, advice and guidance to direct reports and their delegates and acts as a champion in employee development and succession planning to develop, coach, and assist in the development of department objectives.*QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS*To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Six years management experience in the financial industry; high level and detailed knowledge of structure and terms of consumer and commercial loans, investor and insurer guidelines, federal regulations, and loan documentation. Experience coordinating and managing multiple related functions and processes; Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for two years’ experience.Preferred: Eight years management experience in the financial industry; high level and detailed knowledge of structure and terms of consumer and commercial loans, investor and insurer guidelines, federal regulations, and loan documentation. Experience coordinating and managing multiple related functions and processes; Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for two years’ experience.SKILLS and ABILITIES: Word processing and spreadsheet software experience required. Ten key by touch, 35wpm keyboarding experience preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, customers, and/or other members of the bank.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING SKILLS: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
