Position : Production Planner/Scheduler
Job Description : Plans production, processes production batch orders and produces production, sales, forecast, and inventory reports.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, and other duties may be assigned:Production Planning:· Carry out Haliant production planning, taking into consideration customer needs, line capacity and component availability. Review open customer order reports and discuss customer needs with Customer Service Representatives. Consult with Production Managers, and Purchasing Agents or Expeditors as necessary.· Determine the limiters to be made and calibrated with the objective to meet the requirements of the Haliant production lines.· Determine the cans to be pressed and filled with the objective to meet the requirements of the Haliant production lines.· Determine the ribbon to be pressed and corrugated with the objective to meet the requirements of the Haliant production lines.· Supply each RHE line, TIB line and the Can Press with the necessary batch sheets.· Update and maintain the Production Schedule.Sales and Inventory ReportsProduce production, sales, forecast and inventory reports as needed.OtherServes as an ISO Auditor.Assists with tracking DMR data and other data as needed to support production operations.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo direct reports. Does provide guidance and direction to all production employees through production planning process. Should be capable of covering for a Supervisor when on vacation.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma is required (or GED). Minimum of three years materials or production planning experience is desired or general business or science degree at the Associates or greater level. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, as well as Microsoft Word. Knowledge of SAP is essential.LANGUAGE SKILLSWhile performing the essential functions of this job the employee is required to have a good command of English language and excellent writing ability and interpret customer order data to derive the necessary production planning.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSThe employee is required to perform simple, but numerous calculations. Excellent number recognition skills are mandatory.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSContinuous education, advancement and knowledge building skills are encouraged.PHYSICAL DEMANDSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is required to sit for long periods of time at a computer terminal.Employee must be able to move about the production floor to review production status in all areas.
