In this grant-funded position, you’ll be responsible for processing housing relief applications for families in need.About Helping Alaska: For 38 years, our Christian-focused mission has met people in their time of greatest need. Helping Alaska partners with local Christian churches and community organizations to provide resources, support, and guidance to residents of the Tanana Valley, when they need it most. Helping Alaska exists to assist Alaskan families by providing essential resources to build community, change lives, and inspire hope. Through our integrated network of donors, church partners, volunteers, and staff, we have met the needs of over 9000 Tanana Valley residents in 2021 alone. Helping Alaska has experienced a turbulent year of significant growth, pandemic response, expansion, and change.Through grant awards, Helping Alaska has distributed over 20 million in grant substantiated aid to residents of the State of Alaska. This partnership has enabled our organization to grow top-of-mind awareness of services offered by our agency. This relationship has positively impacted our organization by increasing our service area footprint while at the same time increasing the prospective donor base available to our agency.About the Rental Relief Specialist: The Housing Relief Specialist is a grant-funded position responsible for processing housing relief applications for families in need. During your day, you will encounter individuals and families in significant need. Your work to help them qualify for assistance through federally funded programs will be both satisfying and rewarding. You will be an essential component of a tight-knit team, so teamwork is essential.You must have awesome interpersonal skills. You will work with individuals and families who are struggling through a difficult time so patience and tolerance are extremely important personality attributes.Our work environment is casual yet professional. We are highly respected by the clients we serve as well as our donors and the general public. We want you to care for our reputation in the way you interact with the individuals and families you will aid.Confidentiality and the ability to maintain trust are paramount, accordingly, a Nationwide Background Investigation will be performed upon your acceptance of an offer of employment.
