Do you have what it takes?Additional InformationQualified external applicants are eligible for up to a $1,000 sign-on bonus for full time positionsDepartment: Food ServicesHours per week: 40Shift: 10 hour AM shiftsJob OverviewThe Room Service Coordinator serves as a customer service liaison between patients, families, CHCO staff, and visitors with Food Services. The Coordinator is responsible for entering patient meal selections accurately and in accordance with physician diet order and facilitating operations between Room Service, Production Staff and Supervisor/Manager in the absence of management.ResponsibilitiesPOPULATION SPECIFIC CARENo direct patient care.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssist clinical nutrition and care team with special diets and restrictions.Focus on proper phone and email etiquette and excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, families and staff. Help co-workers in all areas as needed to maintain quality & efficiency of department.Communicate to assist customers in meal selections. If needed, based on dietary restrictions, offer alternative selections. Complete missed meals daily.Receive patient meal selections and enter selections into the department’s Food and Nutrition ordering software system.Work across departments to verify patient needs. Verify that patient meals are in accordance with the physician diet order.Communicate with Food Services staff regarding proper preparation for allergies, diet restrictions, special needs.Provide service recovery when needed and communicate identified system issues.Collaborate and communicate with Dietitians & Dietitian Assistants to meet the requirements for patients with restrictions, allergies, or special dietary needs.Reviews food labels and identify potential allergens.Run patient tray carts as needed to maintain quality & efficiency of department and patient and guest meal trays are delivered on time.Communicate with management when additional service recovery is needed or a safety concern occurs.Work with staff to communicate proper meal preparation.Other InformationSCOPE AND LEVELGuidelines: Guidelines are generally numerous, well established, and directly applicable to the work assignment.
