Position : Social Media Manager
Job Description : Position Summary: The Social Media Manager is responsible for managing all of the club’s social media platforms. This role requires an in-depth understanding of all key social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook), the ability to create continuous dynamic content per platform, and strategic planning that fully optimizes our social media presence and engages our target audiences.
Responsibilities:
Leads efforts on the creation and implementation of dynamic content for various social media platforms
Works closely with Director of Content & Creative to strategize social media content and align content with the club’s overall goals
Executes on social media content deliverables for various sponsors and club partners
Tracks social media metrics and delivers monthly reports on social media performance
Ability to manage influencer program as it relates to social media campaigns
Serves as the internal resource for social media best practices across all social media platforms
Regularly engages and maintains professional relationships with the Washington Spirit fanbase, community and supporters’ groups.
Develops social media campaigns for key marketing moments throughout the season (i.e. jersey reveal), ticketing promotions (i.e. season ticket memberships), and club marketing promotions (i.e. match theme nights)
Shapes and maintains social media persona and works across departments to establish a consistent voice/tone for all external club activities
Contributes to overall strategy development for the communications and branding of the club
Manages interns supporting social media activities throughout the season
Expectations:
Be the social media expert: deeply understand key social media platforms, industry best practices, and methods for engaging our core audiences and new audiences
A passion for social media and how it can be used as a tool for building community
Possess a highly refined ability to create dynamic social media content for all key social media platforms
Collaborate with team and look to team members for support on projects as needed
Requirements:
2-4 years of experience in organic social media content development and community management
Proven success in social media campaign planning, management, and reporting
Ability to supervise and develop junior staff (including interns) on social media and engagement
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively is essential
Should hold a bachelor’s degree, together with demonstrated interest in social media
