Position : Special Events & Experiences Assistant

Job Description : The Special Events and Experiences Assistant supports the Special Events and Experiences Division in performing a variety of tasks, including ticketing, reservations, sales, and event planning/execution.
Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required. All Cleveland Metroparks employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
Ability to communicate with guests, vendors, brides, sponsors and other stakeholders in a professional manner. This position will be expected to monitor events and report any issues to direct supervisor. Indoor and outdoor settings in all weather types. Standing for long periods of time.
Works with Division staff, catering staff and clients to coordinate and execute events.
Works on special projects and assists with major Park District Events.
Travels to various locations throughout the park district to assist with various park district events.
Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must possess a valid driver’s license under the laws of the State of Ohio.
Personable and outgoing attitude.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.
Work Schedule:Schedule varies by events. Must be available nights and weekends, Up to 1200 hours per year.
