Job Description : Summit Medical Group is hiring for a full time Surgical Scheduler to join our team! This role will be based in our Hackensack, NJ office but will also work in the Glen Ridge and Emerson, NJ offices.Recent Surgical Scheduling experience in Spine is required for this position.Now is the perfect time to join our growing organization! We offer great benefits, generous Paid Time Off, tuition reimbursement and annual bonus for our employees.The Surgical Scheduler is responsible for:Responsible for scheduling hospital and ambulatory admissions.Verbalizes procedure for collection of pre-admission testing data. Coordinates required testing prior to admission and ensures all information and consents are on site for patient’s admission/procedure.Schedules and enters diagnostic tests and procedures into orders management system, following all appropriate workflows.Arranges types and distributes surgery schedule.Communicates problems to Nurse/Physician/Clinical Manager.Employs appropriate and timely use of tasking.Accurately completes any/all necessary forms for the patientPerforms various clerical duties including faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing and mailing’sEstablishes and maintains a positive working relationship with physicians and nursing staffGeneral Job functions: Demonstrates understanding of submission of necessary documents for hospital and our patient procedures.Demonstrates a working knowledge of booking and scheduling inpatient, outpatient and special procedures.Demonstrates a working knowledge of insurance and pre-certification requirements.Demonstrates working knowledge for rescheduling and canceling procedures.Demonstrates customer service skills when communicating with peers/other departments.Verbalizes customer services skills to alleviate patient anxiety.Demonstrates good judgment in scheduling procedure to increase physician productivity.Demonstrates understanding of emergency proceduresLogs surgical procedures as needed.Arranges for specialty equipment/ services as needed.Interacts with outside vendors / contracted services as needed.· Other job duties as required.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Day shiftSupplemental Pay:Bonus payWork Location: One location
