Job Description : REPORTS TO: Information Technology Manager
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 8:30pm – 5:00pm
COMPENSATION: $29.70/hour + Benefits, Non-Exempt Position

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Plans, conducts, and coordinates College’s electronic office system operations which may include client endpoints, servers, fax, printers, electronic mail, on-line and internet resources, local area networks (LAN), and standard software products. Support all aspects of online learning and distance delivery platforms, and coordinate with Academic Affairs and Technology with ensuring classrooms and instructional spaces are operational for optimized teaching and learning. Ensure faculty and students are equally equipped to navigate the technology utilized at Iḷisaġvik College.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily server room check (ensure all devices, equipment, air-conditions, etc. are functioning properly).
Interacts with users to resolve software and hardware issues.
Performs regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated.
Maintains knowledge of industry standard practices, office automation technology, and office operational requirements.
Adheres to, monitors, and assists in the development of office automation equipment, software, resources, and standards of practice.
Responsible for daily Call Center and Helpdesk operations.
Resolve issues or escalates as appropriate.
Provides first and second-level end-user support for Microsoft applications and operating systems.
Diagnoses and resolves hardware, applications, VoIP, and operating systems concerns.
Offers timely technical support and teaches users how to utilize the College’s electronic office system.
Assists users with network environment connectivity issues.
Keeps users informed regarding status of open issues.
Keeps records of repairs and fixes for future reference.
Complies with College policies, procedures and administrative directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
Interacts effectively in a multicultural environment and engages in Iñupiaq culture activities in the workplace.
Support students in using Moodle and additional educational technology on and off campus.
Set up and oversee equipment in the classroom, and assist faculty and instructors in the use of these platforms and equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Demonstrated basic familiarity with PC hardware and software support.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft applications, operating systems, and client connectivity.
2 years customer service experience.
Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule and travel periodically.
Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: post-secondary educational systems, North Slope Borough [NSB] institutions and organizations; Iñupiat culture, language, values, and traditions.
Ability to interpret and represent North Slope community values, customs, and beliefs for the College.
EDUCATION//CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Required]:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Information Technology Certification in Microsoft, Cisco, Comptia, or equivalent.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Preferred]:
Associate degrees or equivalent.
Valid Driver’s License.

Iḷisaġvik College offers health insurance to our employees with a no cost premium, and $50/month for each additional dependent and a low cost annual deductible of $200 for employee only and $600 for family.
Life Insurance – Iḷisaġvik College offers Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage through Guardian Life to employees at no cost to the employee in the amount of $100,000/per benefit.
