Compensation: $24.04 to $41.19/ hour DOE/Q
North Perry Avenue Water District is located in Bremerton, Washington. We are accepting applications for a full time water distribution technician. We are in search of a committed, enthusiastic, and motivated self-starter to join our team. No experience necessary, though relatable experience in the water industry and/or construction can be a plus.
This position assists in the construction and maintenance work necessary for maintaining the district’s water supply and distribution system. This position reports to the maintenance and construction supervisor.
Example of Duties:
Repair, replace, inspect, install, and maintain water mains, service lines, meters, fire hydrants, and other distribution componentsMaintenance of water facilities including treatment systems, pumps, buildings, and reservoirsHandle routine customer service as dispatched by the office or supervisorWork week end stand by as scheduledMaintain work records, input and manage data as needed for record keeping in an asset management systemMeter Reading
Other duties as assigned
Necessary Skills and Abilities:
Excellent customer serviceClear and effective communication (including written and electronic)Ability to work with others as a teamAbility to work individually as directedAbility to safely operate various power and hand toolsAbility to safely operate a motor vehicle
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalentPossess a valid Washington State driver’s licenseBe capable of being insuredPhysical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, perform semi-heavy labor possibly in adverse weather conditions, and in emergency situations be able to work any hours of the day or nightPossess a Washington State water work certification (can be a plus) or be capable of obtaining within one year after probationary periodPossess a Washington State cross connection certification (can be a plus) or be capable of obtaining within two years after probationary periodObtain and maintain qualifications in first aid and CPRObtain and maintain certifications in flagging and traffic controlPossess a Washington State commercial driver’s license (can be a plus) or capable of obtaining within two years after probationary period

Drop box applications need to be in a sealed envelope and marked Attn. Andrew Cook. A resume and cover letter are required with all applications.
