Position : Assistant Operations Manager
Job Description : Responsible for assisting Operation’s Manager in the supervision and day to day operations scheduling and implementation of company assets. Supervise and assist fleet mechanics and shop/maintenance operations. Schedule work crews and field operations logistics.Prior heavy civil construction experience is essential. The ideal candidate shall have broad prior mechanical experience, possessing the skills and knowledge necessary to help problem shoot and assist mechanics with both scheduling and parts acquisition as well as helping diagnose equipment issues. Prior management experience with associated people skills preferred.PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:· Assist Operations Manager with scheduling employees and equipment for deployment into the field· Assist project managers in obtaining permits and plans from governing authorities· Assist in the diagnose of failures of heavy equipment and vehicles and schedule repairs· Coordinate and implement fleet maintenance program· Coordinate and implement facility maintenance· Procurement· May perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment from time to time· Maintain vehicle and fleet equipment records/logs as requiredREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:· Minimum of ten (10) years experience in heavy civil construction field operations and/or performing heavy equipment/truck repairs· Minimum five (2) years management experience· Experience with Hitachi Excavators, Volvo Loaders, CAT Dozers· Experience with hydraulic and air brake systems and electrical systems· High School Diploma or GEDHELPFUL EXPERIENCE:· Class A CDL (or ability to obtain)· Working with computer instrumentation (for example, using desktop computers, hand-held computers, laptop computers, performing diagnostics with computers, or conducting preventative maintenance and executing work orders).· Ability to supervise, assign tasks, maintain schedules· Must work well with others in a team environment· Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude· Must be able to quickly understand and adhere to safety requirementsPosition pay range: Depends on Experience, but generally $30-$50/hr.
