Beginning Trainee
Primary Functions:
Performing supervisory duties at processing, production, prepared foods, and anywhere needed in the company.
The employee must be willing to relocate to any state where needed.
Major Responsibilities
Perform supervisory positions as assigned in accordance with current position descriptions for those assigned position.
Production: Flock: Supervises contract pullet, breeder or broiler growers in accordance with the company grower contract. Checks progress on each flock and makes timely corrections as good poultry husbandry suggest. Monitor health issues and administers medications and vaccines prescribed by the Corporate Veterinarian.As outlined in the Company policies, rules and procedures, responsible for proper operation of a Company-assigned vehicle.
Hatchery: Supervises and coordinates the maintenance, clean-up and sanitation of the hatchery building and equipment, hatching process, chick delivery, egg handling and sets, record keeping, and hatchery personnel. Prepares work schedule; set priorities and assigns; supervises and coordinates work of maintenance, security, transfer, clean-up personnel, egg and chick drivers and hatching personnel.Controls cost of labor and approves time cards . Conducts necessary hatchery training

and safety meetings for hatchery personnel.
Feedmill: Supervises the delivery and pick-up of feed orders to and from poultry farms as well as controls cost of labor and equipment used in efficiently delivering feed.Directs and applies an effective safety program that includes monthly inspections and safety meetings.Supervises the unloading process to ensure all incoming ingredients are of the quality expected and are unloaded into the proper bins.Approves time cards.
Processing: First Processing: Supervises the department to achieve maximum yield, grade and efficiency of department labor cost. Performs pre-op inspections on sanitation and accompanies USDA on inspections. Monitors QC, USDA, SIS, checks, giblet AQL and post chill checks to see standards are met.Approves time cards.
Second Processing: Supervises employees and maintains quality of product produced, the flow of the products and in what form the product is processed.Monitors labor cost and overtime and approves time cards.Coordinates with Sales and other departments as dictated by special orders to ensure a smooth product flow.
Key Working Relationships:
Works closely with Division Manager.
Works closely with and maintains a close relationship with division management team.
Builds effective working relationship with all division management.
Works with other individuals and groups internally and externally as required tocontribute to corporate objectives and foster corporate relationships.
Identifies with values, philosophy, and mission of Sanderson Farms, Inc.
Ability to conceptualize, communicate and adapt to various and different functionswithin the corporate structure.
Reside within a 30 minute radius of worksite
Position Requirements:
Academic: Bachelors degree
Experience: None required
Physical : Able to work in various temperatures. This includes temperatures of 32 degrees Fahrenheit and lower. Able to work in cold, wet and humid environment.Able to bend, stoop, reach, grasp , twist and kneel.Able to lift 40lbs or more, utilizing proper lifting techniques.Able to work in noisy and dusty environments. Able to stand for long periods of time.Tolerate exposure to chemicals within OSHA limits. Able to wear all required PPE.Able to meet the criteria of the DOT Motor Vehicle Records. Travel as needed by the company and willing to relocateto meet company needs.
