Position : Development Coordinator
Job Description : Title: Development CoordinatorSupervised by: Development DirectorSalary: Non-Exempt, Full-TimePosition Summary: The Development Coordinator is a full-time (40 hours per week) non-exempt position which supports the Development Director with the operations of the Development Department to help acquire, cultivate, and steward AWAIC’s donors. The Development Coordinator will focus on managing in-kind donations. Under the guidance of the Development Director, they will work on marketing and communications for the agency with a focus on fundraising. They will assist with special events, fundraising activities and events, community outreach, and volunteer management in the Development Department.This position requires schedule flexibility for occasional evening and weekend events. This position requires reliable transportation.Minimum Qualifications: · GED or High school Diploma· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of fundraising, donor relations, customer service or marketing of which six (6) months experience is in fundraising, event management, marketing, donor relations.· Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver’s LicensePreferred Qualifications: 2 years of experience in fund development work, customer service, or administrative work.Experience working with databases or a CRM systemExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDetail-oriented and strong organizational skillsEssential Functions Include And Are Not Limited To: In-kind donations (non-cash donations such as clothing, toiletries, etc.)Acts as point of contact for in-kind donations from individuals and organizations providing excellent customer serviceMonitors the changing needs of organization and maintains open lines of communication with Shelter staff and Development DirectorCommunicates with donors with kindness, respect and gratitude while maintaining boundariesManages the logistics of in-kind donations (Amazon Wishlist, donation appointment requests, and scheduling donation drop-offs) and utilizing creativity and problem-solving as neededCommunications and marketingManage AWAIC’s social media accounts including, writing posts, creating graphics (using Canva), sharing relevant topics, responding to messages and comments, ensuring a consistent voice.Plan, write, and coordinate deployment of personalized donor communications and appeals throughout the year designed to acquire, retain, and thank donorsCollaborate with key staff and vendors to ensure projects meet deadlinesTrack metrics and produce reports to analyze appeal performance, identify trends, and find opportunities for growth.Donor DatabaseBecome proficient with the donor database (Bloomerang)Create reports as needed and be able to review the accuracy and integrity of the data.· Other dutiesCoordinate with Development Director to explore potential charitable support from foundations and corporations and identify prospective donors.Coordinate volunteers for development department needs including events and internal processesProvide support to the Development Director as needed for special events, community events, and volunteer management.Represents the development department and AWAIC at external functions as neededOther duties may be assigned as needed.Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftAbility to commute/relocate:Anchorage, AK 99501: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Education:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Fundraising: 1 year (Preferred)Microsoft Office: 2 years (Required)Work Location: One location
