Position : Education & Exhibits Administrator

Job Description : The Washington State Fair, the single largest event in Washington state, is hiring an Education & Exhibits Administrator to assist in creating and managing world-class agricultural and educational exhibits for the organization’s signature events. This role will be responsible for developing and executing creative strategies to enhance the consumer experience within competitions, livestock and educational programs at the Washington State Fair, Spring Fair and other Fair produced events. The Education & Exhibits Administrator also directs the execution in the year-round operations of educational programs, such as the Traveling Farm and Fair School. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits package.Essential Responsibilities · Manage the Livestock/Competitions Coordinator, Competitions Assistant and seasonal staff.· Administer the seasonal educational programs for the Fair, including long-term strategy, curriculum, partnerships and staffing.· Develop educational support materials, such as pre- and post-visit curriculum, online resources, self-guided experiences for school groups and individuals.· develop outcomes measurement tools, feedback surveys and pre/post –curriculum for the educational programs.· Collaborate with the Chief Experience Officer (CXO) in the development of educational exhibits, programming and competitions that enhance the guest experience while at events produced by the organization.· Direct the operations, procedures and systems for the History Experience for Fair-time and year-round opportunities.· Establish and maintain successful relationships with participants, partners, educators and volunteers to ensure highest level of customer satisfaction and retention.· Oversee the administration 40+ Fair departments, including strategic planning to ensure relevance and growth in participation, budgeting, hiring and training 48 Superintendents/Supervisors.· Oversee the development of new animal exhibits and contests within departments to target new participants.· Collaborate with CXO on special permanent projects that represent the Fair brand on the fairgrounds.· Keep up to date on programming, exhibits, education, contest and event trends affecting functional areas to increase innovation and maintain relevance of programming and increase participation.Desired Skills and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in education, business administration or general studies or equivalent combination of education and experience.· Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience working in the fair, education, event and/or attraction industry.· Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines.· Must be highly collaborative and have the ability to work with a variety of people with varying backgrounds and experience.· Must be self-motivated, organized, and work well under pressure.· Excellent communication and coordination skills (both verbal and written).Job Type: Full-timeWork Location: One location
