Position : Fiber Optic Technician
Job Description : **MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TOOLS**The Fiber Technician will be responsible for working at multiple site locations for Global IT client. The Technicians will be the subject matter expert in regards to site surveys, installation of fiber and conduit, and overall cable pulling for wireless network installation/deployment at historic site locations (prisons). Domestic travel will be necessary for this role but will be based in Florida starting out.Must-Haves: 3-5 plus+ years hands on experience in fiber/ conduit cabling3+ years leading fiber and electrician teams (site surveys, project management and development of site deployment plans, ensuring in scope work is being met and managing customer demands)Experience with fiber/conduit cabling projects at historic sites or very secure locations like hospitalsExcellent customer facing communication skillsPlus: PM certificationsCable Technician certifications (BICSI, Panduit, Commscope and etc…)Experience working onsite as a technician at prison or correctional facilitiesExtended Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair cable systemsTest and troubleshoot issues with network communicationConduct thorough inspections of cable lines to ensure the system is working correctlyPull, route, or label CAT5 or CAT6 cableInstall various support structures, including cable racks, j-hooks, innerduct, and other related structuresgeneral understanding of structured cabling standards and their implementationfamiliarity with pulling fiber optic cablingexperience working on a construction siteability to work independently and with little oversight8:00 am – 6:00 pm local time (Typically 10-hour days)One hour paid check-inOne hour paid check-outEach prison will take 1-2 weeks to complete15 min phone interviewBackgorund Check requiredJob Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $40.00 – $50.00 per hourSchedule:10 hour shiftEducation:High school or equivalent (Required)Experience:fiber/conduit cabling projects: 3 years (Required)leading fiber and electrician teams: 3 years (Required)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Required)Work Location: One location
