Position : Game QA Tester
Job Description : MVI Health is developing a revolutionary new product that uses state-of-the-art virtual reality technology to transform physical rehabilitation. As our QA Tester and Generalist, you will play a key role in ensuring quality in our product in order to deliver a great experience to our customers. MVI Health is a game development studio within Penumbra, a global healthcare company. We are a team consisting largely of game development veterans, who’ve worked on a huge variety of games spanning the last 20 years, from Skylanders to Psychonauts, the Sims to the latest mobile games. How You’ll Contribute; What You’ll Achieve
Work under the direction of the Game QA Lead to provide test support for two dozen experienced game designers, artists, and engineers.
Perform daily smoke tests of game builds, using the build computer and the install scripts..
Run through and write test plans for existing and new features. Become familiar with the project design by closely reading project documentation and reaching out regularly to our team of game developers.
Verify that identified bugs are fixed in the database.
Identify and bug new issues that occur in the HMD and tablet interface.
Build on your own fundamental QA skills by learning the specifics of game development QA for mobile devices, VR headsets, and experimental technology.
Engage in continuous improvement of the QA process. Think critically about basically everything. Be able to take “no” for an answer.
Provide assistance with other studio tasks as needed.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree, or some professional experience testing VR, mobile, PC, console, or software applications.
Professional or Personal Experience with VR applications and Hardware.
Experience evaluating systems, identifying problems, and collaborating with teams to find solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and initiative.Clear and effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interact with team members at all levels.
Ability to quickly pick up new technical skills, such as troubleshooting sensors, learning to use uncommon software like ADB or Sixense Device Tool, and configuring network connections on fussy routers.
