Job Summary

Dr. Sharrelle Barber’s research team is looking for virtual raters to assess neighborhood conditions in the Jackson, MS area using Google Street View. This work is in support of an NIH-funded research project that seeks to understand the role of changing neighborhood environments in shaping cardiometabolic outcomes among African American adults in the Jackson, Mississippi metropolitan area. The project is based at the Urban Health Collaborative at the Dornsife School of Public Health. Raters will complete 3-6 hours of training over the course of 1-2 weeks, followed by 10-15 hours of self-paced rating per week. Training will begin in late March 2022 and work will continue through June 2022. This position is fully remote, based in Mississippi.

Essential Functions

Complete 3-6 hours of interactive training.
Conduct virtual audits of neighborhood conditions using Google Street View imagery.
Participate in meetings with the supervisor and research team as needed.

Required Qualifications

General familiarity with Google Street View
Ability to work well in teams and independently

Interest in urban health research
