The Plant Company is a newly established business that encompasses a 5 acre greenhouse facility along with a 1.5 acre production barn. We are a state of the art, controlled environment greenhouse for the sustainable production of tropical indoor foliage plants of consistent and exceptional quality. Job Summary
In this position, the Greenhouse Grower would primarily be responsible for engaging the daily implementation and follow-through around crop needs (e.g. climate, irrigation, fertility, EC and pH management, and pest management) and finishing plants on time, at the correct quantities and specifications. This is a collaborative company in which we all work together to achieve our goals. There will be times when you may be asked to lend a hand outside of your main responsibilities.
Hours, Pay, and Benefits
Full time position, 40+ hours a week, regular schedule Monday through Friday with occasional weekend shifts. This position is agriculturally exempt from overtime.
Starting salary: $50,000 – $55,000 per year

Requirements
Minimum of Associates degree in Greenhouse, Horticulture, Botany, or related field
4+ years of relevant job experience
Use of computer software including:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and work with team towards a solution.
Ability to determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about them.
Positive attitude and team player.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Tasks
Identify plants as well as problems such as diseases, weeds, and insect pests and beneficials.
Recommend best plant growing conditions.
Apply biologicals, pesticides and fertilizers to plants.
Chemical inventory
Position and regulate plant irrigation systems, and program environmental and irrigation control computers.
Inspect crops and evaluate plant and soil conditions.
Explain, promote and enforce safety regulations and policies.
Inspect facilities and equipment for signs of disrepair and perform necessary maintenance work.
Maintain clean growing facilities, ensure that areas are free from weeds and debris, both inside and out.
Nutrient mixing and inventory.
Multiple trials and tracking of each with supporting documentation in Microsoft.
Actively participate in conversations with the team to determine best plan of action.
Ability to manage others if needed.
Other duties, as assigned.
