Position : Manager of Maintenance Planning
Job Description : The Manager of Maintenance Planning is responsible for Aircraft Maintenance forecasts, plans, and schedules maintenance events to maintain FAA regulatory compliance. The Manager of Maintenance Planning will be responsible for ensuring all maintenance is scheduled within the required time providing viable options necessary to route, re-route, and swap aircraft flying lines to accommodate the planned maintenance requirements. The Manager of Maintenance Planning ensures no overfly activity of maintenance tasks while balancing the needs of Technical Operations, System Operations, Marketing, and other internal/external customers.
Essential Responsibilities
Shall Lead and Direct activities of Maintenance Planners.
Shall Ensure that the required maintenance is scheduled and accomplished within the calendar, flight-hour, and flight cycle limits as specified by NPAs approved maintenance programs, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives and Special Instructions.
Schedules and prepares work packages for Aircraft/Engines IAW established procedure
Coordinates material support requirements for routine and non-routine items.
Manages plot and routing changes such that all maintenance events are scheduled and performed within the time interval of the task while accounting for manpower, ground time, parts, tooling, facilities, weather, etc.
Ensures all scheduled planned maintenance is replotted correctly after any swap/reroute event
Tracks accomplishment of Aircraft Service and Weekly Checks, as well as other low-time items, including MELs and other DMI’s
Assists with the recovery plan in the event the system operation is impacted by delays or cancellations
Collaborates with NPAs OCC, Airports and Technical Operations Leadership to identify operational issues which impact necessary ground time for planned maintenance
Other duties as assigned by DOM
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
One (1) year of aviation experience or one (1) year of leadership experience
Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Airworthy Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work well with others
Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation or Business
Five (5) years aviation experience in Maintenance Planning.
Five (5) years of leadership experience
Proficient in M&E System Alkym
Establishing credible cross-divisional relationships
Results oriented with the ability to balance diverse and dynamic operational requirements
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Flexibility, agility, and change management skills
Ability to work under pressure, multitask and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment
