The Northeast Health District is seeking a Media Relations Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries as well as assist with inquiries from community partners and the general public. Duties will include writing and disseminating press releases, responding to interview requests, creating newsletter, website, and social media content, and collaborating on advertising campaigns and community outreach. Initial focus will be on the District’s COVID-19 pandemic response.

Applicants with prior media experience should also provide links to or submit footage of video segments, radio interviews, or other applicable examples of on-camera/on-air interactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, English, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with healthcare entities.
Experience translating scientific and technical writings to be understood by the general public.
Experience with on-camera interviews.
Working knowledge of AP style guide.
Annual salary $40,000 – $50,000 depending on qualifications, plus generous benefits include 13 paid holidays, paid annual and sick leave, health insurance, pension, and additional retirement plans.
