Job Description : SUMMARY:This position will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of a high volume practice.RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain physician’s schedule according to physician’s instructions and in accordance with office protocolAccurately register and schedule appointments for patients in EPICSchedule appointment requests via patient portal systemPrepare patients’ chartsGreet, check in/out and schedule follow up visits for patients; schedule and/or coordinate ancillary tests, procedures and surgeries as necessaryObtain pre-certifications/pre-authorizations for services when necessaryEnter, edit and/or scan patients’ information into EPIC EMR system and maintain patient databaseReview and verify patients’ insurance eligibility and benefits under various health plansEnsure patients’ messages, prescription requests and referrals are handled in a timely mannerForward test results to referring physicians and patients as necessaryAnswer and carefully screen phone calls; obtain detailed information and email or take written messages; direct and transfer calls appropriatelyAddress patients’ complaints and problemsRead, sort and route incoming mail; answer correspondence; prepare outgoing mailFile, fax and photocopy when necessaryPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent0-1 years of OB/GYN experienceAdditional Job InformationJob Type: Full-timePay: $21.00 – $32.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
