Job Description : Primary ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Unit Manager, Nursing Supervisor, and/or licensed nurse, the Nursing Assistant provides care for personal needs and comfort of an assigned group of patients. Carries out plan of care to ensure an acceptable standard of personal hygiene, grooming, or enables patient to carry out his/her ADL’s, and considers age related needs in the planning and delivery of patient care. Acts in accordance with the requirements of the Hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program policies and practices within their scope of practice. Maintains good working relations with nursing unit staff and other hospital employees through appropriate communication.Perform tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning, restraints and restorative care.Perform selected procedures as designated by the nurse.Take vitals (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory) according to established protocol.Measure statistics such as intake/output; height/weight.Obtain routine lab samples, including bedside glucose testing.Other DutiesFollow hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program policies.Comply with hospital and departmental work rules and policies.Maintain annual hospital requirements including CPR, PPD and fit testing.Maintain a safe environment for patients and co-workers; transports patients and equipment as appropriate.Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.Perform other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualification Requirements: Employment is subject to being completely vaccinated or having a WGH approved COVID-19 Vaccine Exemption prior to providing services for the facility.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs): Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, both orally and in writing.Good communication and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.Possess the KSAs necessary to operate various computer software programs.Possess the KSAs necessary to plan and provide care appropriate to the age and special needs of patients served.Education/Licensure and Certification: High school graduate or equivalent.Completion of nurse aide course; or,Nursing student having completed a semester of clinical fundamentals; or,RN with a foreign RN license.Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification; must be physically able to perform CPR.Certified Nurses Aide preferred.Experience: Three (3) months experience in an acute, long-term care or in home care preferred.Working Conditions: Air conditioned, well lighted environment.Exposure to infectious and contagious diseases; body fluids and wastes; bloodborne pathogens.Subject to frequent interruptions.May work beyond normal working hours.Interacts with other departments and personnel and outside contacts.Equipment UseUse of various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and patient assistive devices.Mental and Physical DemandsAbility to lift/carry or push/pull up to 50 pounds or more with assistance devices.Position involves reaching, sitting, standing and walking; lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timeBenefits:Dental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee discountFlexible scheduleFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid sick timePaid time offPaid trainingRetirement planVision insuranceMedical Specialty:Medical-SurgicalPhysical Setting:HospitalSupplemental Pay:Differential payOvertime payEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:AHA BLS (Preferred)Work Location: One location
