Job Description : FLEX College Prep is seeking dynamic individuals with strong communication skills to respond to text tutoring inquiries. Subjects include Math, Science, English, History, essay writing and literature analysis, and others – STEM and Humanities backgrounds are strongly preferred.
FLEX College Prep is offering free 24/7 text tutoring to support students by comforting and reassuring them when their schoolwork has them feeling overwhelmed. Our goal of this program is to help students feel supported, to feel like there are people in the community that care and who are willing to help. We’re looking for tutors to take shifts to respond to incoming messages at all hours. Previous teaching experience is preferred, but training is provided!
Since many tutoring assignments are short-term, academic instructors will be hired as temporary employees with a 6-month review for regular part-time employment.

What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree, or Bachelor’s in progress, required,
Strong communication skills to establish rapport with students and co-workers
Passion for education
Highly proficient with communication tools/software
Experience teaching or tutoring High School students
Availability to work at least some evenings and weekends
What we’d love but don’t need:
Formal experience and/or training in education
Ability to teach multiple subjects (i.e. AP Calculus, AP Chemistry and AP Physics)
What you’ll do:
Online tutors quickly respond to student text-tutoring inquiries, helping the students solve the problem at hand. Tutors prioritize a positive and encouraging approach, helping the student feel a little less stressed.
