Position : Patient Scheduler
Job Description : Mission Statement: To foster a compassionate community dedicated to serving patients with allergy and immunology conditions.Position Summary: This non-exempt position is responsible for performing the daily operations of the front office and various duties as assigned by management.Reports To: Director of OperationsPrincipal Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments as required according to practice guidelines.Scheduling new and established patient appointments, follow-ups and telemed appointments.Notifying patients with scheduling changes and reschedule where applicable.Informing patients of the information they are required to provide prior to patient visit including referral/authorization information, insurance information, medical history.Informing patient that co-payment and deductibles are collected at the time of service.Answering patients’ questions as it relates to scheduling.Assuring auto-patient phone messaging system is initiated daily.Courteously receiving incoming telephone calls and taking messages as needed.Assisting with training staff.Providing coverage for other Front Office positions.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Required Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesStrong skills in verbal and written communication.Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.Experience with practice management scheduling software and multi-line telephone systems.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Must be a self-started with a positive, service-oriented attitude.The ability to follow practice scheduling guidelines.Basic understanding of insurance, referral, and authorization requirements.Proven experience working in a medical office.Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance plans.The ability to type and file accurately.Good telephone etiquette.EducationHigh school diploma or GEDExperienceAt least two years of directly related experience.Working ConditionsOSHA Category 3: Involves no regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues are not a condition of employment.Job Type: Full-timePay: $16.00 – $17.00 per hourBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Peoria, AZ 85381: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Education:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Medical Call Center: 1 year (Required)Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)directly related: 2 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
