Job Description : As Payroll & Reporting Manager, you will own a key business function – ensuring that our hardworking team of Inkers are paid accurately and on time – and that’s only one piece of the impact you’ll have. You’ll proactively work to ensure that payroll processes, tax filings, new state business and tax registrations (as we continue to grow our footprint) and compliance-related requirements are executed flawlessly and with proper internal controls. You’ll work closely with members of the Finance & Legal team, Team Development, Inkers and leaders across the business so you must be highly motivated and want to deliver a high-touch (WOW!) experience for all involved. You’ll also deliver high quality reports utilizing data sets within Workday as well as partner with Team Services, Benefits, and Accounting teams through reporting, reconciliations, audits, analyses, and more.
What you’ll do:
Inkers work hard and go above and beyond for our customers and each other every single day, and it’s critically important that we reward their hard-earned pay accurately and on time. To succeed in this role, you’ll:
Ensure that bi-weekly payroll processes are streamlined, effective, and exceptionally accurate across all pay and tax filings, and in full compliance.
Deliver high-touch, proactive ownership of Payroll-related items, ranging from responding to day-to-day pay questions to driving 401(k) and payroll liability reconciliations, bonus payment taxation, know-how of setting up new configurations in Workday, state-by-state tax requirements, and more.
Take ownership of and enhance Workday reporting, reducing the need for external Workday third-party support
Apply curiosity and problem solving skills to ensure efficient and accurate processes, while delivering high quality Inker experience.
Approach work with an automation mindset – continuously think about how to improve processes and use systems to gain efficiencies.
Provide cross-functional support within Finance & Legal as needed with a roll-up-your sleeves team player attitude.
Given the extremely confidential nature of this role, it’s important to note that the position requires the highest level of personal integrity, honesty, and sound judgement, and respect for the private nature of the information with which you are entrusted.
How your work will be measured:
Payroll, benefits, and reporting are critical business processes demanding extremely high attention to detail, efficiency and confidentiality. Success will be measured by:
100% timely and accurate execution of all payroll processing related responsibilities
Reduction of payroll processing time through automation, process improvements and leader education
Optimization of costs associated with outside vendors and partners
What we’re looking for:
7-10 years experience owning payroll administration, tax, audits, and reconciliations
An impeccable track record of being a meticulous, resourceful, and approachable self-starter
Proven ability to predict, own, and resolve issues pertaining to earnings, taxes, and payroll-related compliance
Stellar analytical and mathematical abilities
Competent skill and genuine will to solve problems and implement solutions
Clear track record of success in a high-touch, customer centric, and metric-heavy environment
Demonstrated ability and agility to provide cross functional support when and where needed
Unquestionable integrity, confidentiality, and trustworthiness with sensitive data
Pluses: Workday, Payroll tax (including LLC-specific tax experience, relevant Payroll certifications, HR-related compliance (FLSA, FMLA, EEO, ERISA, etc)
In addition, you must share our company values—practicing the Golden Rule, taking Ownership, and driving and embracing Innovation.
