Job Description : Job descriptionPosition: Production Manager (New York – This is not a remote job)Overview of the Role: We are looking for an organized, team-leader production manager who has prior experience working at a mid-sized company and experience building a team. This is an exciting opportunity at a fast-paced growing company. Previous experience as senior production manager required. Required to travel a week per month.The Production Manager is responsible for the execution of:· Creating a vision for the production development and execution of products, cross team collaboration· Hard good / home product experience· Cost negotiations with factories· Hiring the right people to execute that vision· Knowledge of production processes and materials for hardgoods and soft goods· Visit to factories (when factories open up)· Cost negotiations for existing SKU’s· Negotiates factory chargebacks and asks the factory for discounts on a case by case basis (for example, late shipments or poor quality that does not match approval samples)· Inspection Report ownership, reviewing all aspects and communicating whether a product is approved to ship. Escalating product related questions to the Design & PD team on a case by case basis (for example, if the TOP does not match the approved PP)· Clear Communication with In-Country Teams, Factories, Logistics and Operations regarding PO’s, Re-orders, On-time shipments, tracking delivery for newness and re-orders· Partnering with the Design & PD team so PO’s are issued only after a product has completed the development lifecycle and has been cost approved and design approved. Hand-off from Design & PD to the Production Manager happens once a product is design and cost approved, this is prior to PO placement, by which the Production Manager initiates ownership at the PO process stage (sku creation, po language, etc)· Effectively working cross-functionally so hand off is seamless between each department internally and overseas: Design & PD, Operations, Logistics, In-Country Team, and Factories· Experience with Amazon / Ecomm products and an understanding of oversized/undersized product requirements for AMZ Seller Central, along with Drop TestsResponsibilities:· Manage Supply Chain Team· Development and Creation of new SKUs· Partner with Ops and In-Country Teams· Learn existing product catalog for all categories· Review and approve all Inspection Reports· QA (Quality Assurance) on all products in production and post-production· Review all Disbursement Reports· Participate in cross-functional Ops meetings· Lead cross-functional PO meetings· Attend and participate in small group cross-functional PD meetings, providing feedback on and communicating to In-Country Teams on things including but not limited to: anything technical (such as how to hang a shelf, drop test packaging requirements, and brick and mortar packaging requirements), product construction, quality, and delivery timelines· Communicate with In-Country Production Staff regarding production and shipments on newness and re-orders, Warehouse Staff, In-Country QA and 3rd Party Labs (such as BV or Intertek)· Resolve technical issues related to Production, Quality, and can think through how products such as frames are assembled and provide feedback on process and procedure to the In-Country Teams· Provide feedback on recommended materials for best overall product execution during small group cross-functional PD meetings. This is functionality focused and not design related. Recommendations should not change the design, but rather be aimed to enhance products by achieving optimal functionality at a low cost and maintaining timelines· In-Stock POD projects (for example POD art at the warehouse that is inserted into in-stock frames)· Re-sourcing of existing products (for example, if production needed to be moved to another factory for better terms or better quality)· Establish and finalize terms for the onboarding new factories, and manage factory relationships· Conduct Vendor Scorecard analysis and publish out twice a year (rating vendors as A, B, C based on on-time shipments, quality of products, volume for the past 3 years, and top 5 products)· Create, update and publish a company vendor guide with packaging guidelines, etc.(sharing internally and with In-Country Production teams and factories)· Guide production for easiest path forward· Understand partner factory capabilities and research new factory recommendations based on Design and Product Development needsJob Type: Full-timeJob Type: Full-timePay: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:Amazon / Ecomm products: 3 years (Required)Hard good / home product: 3 years (Required)Production Manager: 3 years (Required)Cost negotiations for existing SKU’s: 3 years (Required)Work Location: One location
