Position : Production Supervisor
Job Description : The Production Supervisor is a member of the plant leadership team and plays a key role in providing management and leadership to deliver business results and operational improvements. Under direction of the Business Unit Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing operations for an assigned area and shift.Primary ResponsibilitiesThis role has responsibility to achieve productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, quality, safety and employee engagement objectives through both individual and team contributions. Provides direction, leadership, development and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement projects and initiatives. Develops, implements and promotes safety programs and safe work practices through involvement in plant safety teams, programs and initiatives. Promotes sound employee & labor relations within the department by developing and maintaining an effective organization with qualified personnel. Develops, promotes, and supports continuous improvement and other cross-functional initiatives.QualificationsBA/BS Degree in Business, Food Science, Engineering or related field is required2+ years of experience in supervisor role1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is requiredAbility to lead, motivate and mentor large teams of hourly associates is requiredStrong communication and leadership skillsStrong analytical/critical thinkingStrong accountability, consistency and follow-through skillsAbility to work effectively with a wide array of plant personnel ranging from hourly employees to senior managementSupervises employees on an assigned shift to ensure manufacture of products, parts, components, or assemblies, or to perform service functions within established timing, quality, and cost standards.- Has greater emphasis than Unit Supervisors I and II on skilled operations, such as machining, continuous process operations, assembly, and testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.- Supervises production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed all established quality requirements, including product integrity and production order documentation.- Directs all related personnel actions, including final selection, training, performance appraisal, discipline, safety, and grievance procedures in unionized environments.- Determines manufacturing priorities based on established weekly production schedules and makes dailyassignments.- Interprets specifications and makes judgments about the acceptability of production that is in process.- Implements departmental safety programs to ensure safety of employees working in the area.- Assures product quality.- Assists operators in problem solving and exercises considerable judgment.- Directs routine equipment maintenance and set-up.Job Type: Full-timePay: $72,400.00 – $108,600.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveVision insuranceSchedule:12 hour shiftNight shiftOvertimeWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Work Location: One location
