The Program Assistant II assists department/Clinical Research Supervisor and/or Clinical Research Nurse in the implementation of program policies and procedures. Carries-out special assignments or projects in addition to performing administrative responsibilities.
Program Assistant positions may vary widely in the specific responsibilities performed, as much of the work is project-based and specific to the individual department or study.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent works with some independence and is expected to use judgment in carrying-out duties within the framework of department/study policies and procedures. May perform some or all of the following responsibilities:
Assists in the implementation of department/study policies and procedures. 5%
Track and courier research samples and products as necessary. 50%
Serve as department/study liaison and provide information to Center staff and outside organizations. 5%
Maintain updated policies and procedures manuals. 10%
Make accurate and complete postings to department/study records and maintain files and filing system in accordance with policies and procedures. 10%
Perform administrative duties to include drafting and word processing correspondence, reports, publications.; editing and proofreading materials; making appointments, travel arrangements and organizing meetings. 20%
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, AA or BA
Minimum of two years experience in a related field
Special skills and required background to be determined by each department/study where job exists
Organizational skills
General office skills (i.e., typing, filing, phone skills)
Word processing/computer skills
Written and oral communication skills
In addition to job duties at Fred Hutch, this position also requires access to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, which requires COVID-19 vaccination without exceptions.
Accordingly, as a condition of employment for this Fred Hutch position, newly hired employees must provide proof of vaccination before their first day of employment.
