Job Description : Role
Under minimal supervision of the elected Sheriff, performs confidential work of a difficult nature to include complex personnel matters, project management work and maintaining the efficiency of the agency and the Sheriff’s executive staff.
Major Duties, Responsibilities
Coordinates body camera program; receive, assign and distribute cameras; arrange repairs; reconcile accounts; train employees; review and edit video for dissemination. Purchase new equipment, obtain pricing and distribute.
Provides administrative support to the Personnel Review Board and the Mental Health Coalition; coordinate hearings, take notes, compose minutes, memos and documents.
Manages projects for the Sheriff and executive staff to include specialized database maintenance pertaining to management tools including predictive and statistical elements.
Confers with citizens pertaining to personnel matters, complaints and investigations.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Expectations:
Develops and implements policies, procedures and special projects and tasks.
Prepares and maintains confidential reports and records.
Analyzes vendor proposals, makes recommendations.
Represents the Sheriff and executive staff in professional interactions.
Serves as liaison to other criminal justice agencies and governments on assigned matters.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Five (5) years progressively responsible administrative experience within a law enforcement agency.
Education:
High school diploma or GED. 30 semester hours of post high school coursework in business administration, public relations, statistics or a closely related field.

Maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
Other Skills:
Considerable knowledge of law enforcement principles, methods and practices of office administration, operations and management; statutes, rules, regulations, personnel policies and litigation issues; statistical surveying techniques and their application; guidelines, regulations and statutes impacting law enforcement, technology function, staff research, business English and report writing; accounting and budgeting practices.
REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT WITH THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE
All persons applying for employment with the Sheriff’s Office shall be required to meet the following general qualifications: integrity, honesty, dependability, industry thoroughness, accuracy, good judgment, initiative and courtesy. All persons will be required to complete a thorough background investigation to include, but not limited to polygraph, psychological and physical assessment. All persons must successfully complete a minimum six-month probation period. Where the position requires the operation of a motor vehicle, the applicant must have a valid Arizona operator’s license.
