The position is responsible for keeping the community informed of County programs, issues and accomplishments, communicating information to the community through the media, presentations, printed publications, news releases, advertisements, e-newsletters, social media outlets, videos and County websites. The position also prepares content for printed and electronic communication pieces, assists in coordinating county events and performs related professional and administrative work as required. The position works under general supervision independently developing work methods and sequences. The Public Safety PIO will lead public communications functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency support as assigned.THIS POSITION WILL HAVE A DEDICATED EMPHASIS FOR PUBLIC SAFETY.Minimum Qualifications:Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing or Advertising, Journalism, Communications or a closely related field with four (4) years of related experience.
