Position : Refrigeration Operator
Job Description : OverviewIncumbent will operate and maintain a large single stage Ammonia system in accordance with SOP’s and PSM program and all mandated safety guidelines. Incumbent will perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on both low temp and RSW systems and multiple systems of NH3.Responsibilities: Knowledge of refrigeration theory and operation.Knowledge and familiarity with components including reciprocating and screw compressors, pumps, motors, valves, evaporators and heat exchangersDiesel operation and maintenance.Able to read and understand P&ID Diagrams and follow flow diagrams.Familiar with electronic controls and sensing techniques common to refrigeration.Good mechanical aptitude.Safe work practices, particularly with regard to NH3 (anhydrous ammonia).Qualifications: Required Skills and AbilitiesOperate and maintain a single stage Ammonia system safely and efficientlyAble to wear an air purifying respirator during routine maintenance and emergency situationsMechanical ability to perform basic maintenance on refrigeration equipment.Able to work in a cold environment, blast tunnel operation,Familiarity with and ability to follow Mechanical, Electrical, OSHA, and PSM codes and requirements.Able to keep job sites clean and orderlyOrganized and efficient workInterpersonal and Communications SkillsAbility to communicate effectively and professionally with coworkersAble to maintain records and paperwork required for maintenance and operations logsAbility to work harmoniously with coworkers of various departments.Drug freeWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements90% of time is spent working at job sites. Exposure to cold, moisture, high noise, and maintenance levels of ammonia are normal.Job requires ability to perform tasks on all areas and aspects of refrigeration equipment and processes. Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs., and to bend, climb and crawl.Job Functions and HazardsNormal hazards associated with industrial refrigeration environment.Job Type: Full-timePay: $19.00 – $27.00 per hourSchedule:Day shiftHolidaysNight shiftOn callOvertimeWeekend availabilityWork Location: One location
