Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the opportunity below:SUMMARY: Oversees sanitation function to ensure compliance with all quality management programs and food safety systems, such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in support of the plant’s Quality Assurance department. Will be responsible for documenting cleaning and sanitizing procedures for food contact and nonfood contact surfaces. Assists in the operation of sanitation equipment and machinery to clean and sanitize production areas. Maintains plant sanitation programs and procedures to fulfill sanitation requirements while fostering a safe working environment. Responsible for training of sanitation basis, SSOP’s and motivating sanitation staff to perform at their best and deliver results in a continuous process improvement environment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Adheres to and exemplifies behaviors aligned with company core valueso Ho’ohana: We Work with Passion & Purposeo Pono: We Choose to do What is Righto Laulima: We Work Togethero Malama: We Careo Kuleana: We Take Ownership & ResponsibilityResponsible for ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitation for all processing equipment, tools, machines and all adjacent areas prior to the start of operationsOversee clean-up activities of equipment and facilities in all production areasDirect and delegate work activities to staff through time-management and prioritization to ensure that all plant cleaning requirements are fulfilledMaintains documentation of sanitation logs and SOP’s by properly completing documentations that measure daily performance and completion detailsMaintains and maintains GMP provisions and monitors associate practices that relate to cleanliness, sanitation, and pest controlAssist in the operation of sanitation equipment and machinery to clean and sanitize production areas.Ensure the safety of all employees; conduct safety trainingUnderstand all aspects of SanitationPerform light to heavy cleaning duties using various equipment and utensilsTrains staff and production employees assigned to sanitation duty on proper sanitation proceduresAble to apply proper chemical applications throughout the facility, demonstrate the proper usage and application of all sanitation equipmentAssist in the development of sanitation personnel members through On-The-Job trainingPromotes, complies, actively participates and enforces the importance of safety, to help maintain a safe and healthy work environmentCommunicates job duties to sanitation personnelImplement sanitation programs which support company’s processes and procedures, ensuring highest quality products are produced in a thoroughly clean environmentWorks closely with Supervisor and staff to ensure SOP requirements are maintainedConducts physical inspections of equipment to evaluate effectiveness of sanitation effortsEnsure the proper verification of cleaning & sanitization events by enforcing proper and accurate documentation of all sanitation forms/logsAssist in the development of the master sanitation schedulePerform regular inventories of sanitation chemicals and non-chemical suppliesReport any sanitation equipment in need of repair/maintenanceSupport management staff during plant sanitation auditsMaintains the cleanliness of the building and groundsParticipate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goalsReview new equipment or equipment modifications to give feedback on design aspects that affect the ability to clean and sanitize the equipment or processProvide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skillPerform other duties as requiredMinimum Qualifications & Requirements:Able to work in a fast paced, high stress environmentAbility to work overtime and/or flex work hours as required (day or night) including weekends.Requires strong attention to detail and ability to multitaskAbility to communicate with supervisors and coworkers in a team environmentAble to work according to food facility regulationsHigh school diploma or equivalentBasic knowledge of sanitation procedures and chemical applicationFood industry related experience. Sanitation experience a plusDemonstrates people and team leadership skills (supervisory experience preferred)SKILLS:Demonstrated leadership of sanitation programs and continuous improvementStrong awareness in the food sector and sanitationExperience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safe and proper chemical handlingStrong interpersonal skills to include team building and oral communicationStrong organization and planning skillsIlocano or Tagalog speaking a plusPHYSICAL & WORKING DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
