Position : Staff/Teaching Artists
Job Description : Staff/Teaching Artists – We are in search of after school staff and teaching artists. After School hours are 2-6pm Monday – Wednesday and Friday and 12:15 – 6pm on Thursday’s. Having your own form of transportation helps but is not necessary.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children, elementary age preferred.
Background in visual art, music, drama/theater or dance preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR/First aid and Bloodborne Pathogens or acquire within 30 days of hire.
Must be able to pass background check
Must be able to follow a deadline and maintain professional relationships.
Ability to be flexible with scheduling and day to day operations.
Ability to think on your feet, be innovative and keep students engaged.
Responsibilities:
Plan lessons/projects for students and efficiently execute lessons.
Be able to lead/instruct and manage a large group of elementary aged children.
Appropriately to deal with conflict and behavior management with children.
Develop a positive relationship with each student and their families.
Maintain a clean, safe and productive environment for children to express themselves and promote creative development.
Maintain a good relationship with staff and teaching artists.
Pick up children from assigned locations on time.
Communicate frequently with Program Director about needs, supplies, behavior issues, safety concerns, or any questions.
Attend and participate in staff meetings, school events and parent nights as required.
Appropriately represent Gabriel’s Art Kids and it’s image to the public.
Serve as a stable, genuine and appropriate role model and facilitator.
