Imerys is determined to develop responsibly, in particular by fostering the emergence of environmentally-friendly products and processes.If you want to grow your skills and develop your career, find out more at www.imerys.comJOB PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES:Provide an effective distribution network to manufacture and deliver our products to our customers by managing the supply chain environment within the Company, including customer service, transportation, warehouse & bulk terminals, railcar planning, inventory planning, control and distribution, order entry, invoicing, toll blending operations and global activities monitoring through KPIs’ population and communication.KEY RESULTS AREAS / PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Order to cash process: Manage customer services and logistics services activities: support to sales team and assist in customer strategy development, order collection, order confirmation based on stocks / transport / loading resources availability, loading and delivery process, and invoicing.Planning/ stocks management: Ensure the right balance between demand and stock while optimizing corresponding logistics costs. Ensure that inventory levels meet stock targets in order to secure service level and respect WCR targets. Manage and control the freight budget for inbound and outbound transportation, external warehouses and bulk transfer facilities for product distribution, and leased railcar management. Determine and implement optimal supply chain solutions for products and raw materials. In the sales forecasting tool, “Quintiq”, has the “Demand Manager and expert user” role, and serves as the liaison with the Sales group for sales forecasts. Coordinates all imports for resale finished goods based on the sales forecast.Safety: Improve safety measures linked to logistics activities (loading and unloading activities, traffic pattern for drivers and trucks, interaction with plant operators) in collaboration with plants and logistics providers.Service level: Is accountable for Customer Satisfaction. Ensure that service level target is reached by his/her team(s). Ensure that service offer and corresponding logistics organization is well adapted to customer needs. Ensure a proper and timed service level calculation, plus a communication of the connected detailed explanations on performances.Backlogs: Ensure a full traceability, month end at closing but also within the month on demand, of backlogs from the plant but also from both the distribution and the Tolling networks. Is accountable for the backlogs calculation and the connected detailed explanations on performances.Logistics provider: Manage functional supervision of logistics providers (carriers, warehousing/bulk terminals activity, leased railcars…). Ensure that they comply with contracted conditions and meet hence expected service level. Manage corrective actions and continuous improvement actions. Determine and recommend new locations and negotiate rates for storage in public warehouses. Provides SC expertise to Sales teams (accurate rates communication, incoterms, transport organization or local rules, customs rules …)Complaints: In coordination with the Quality Manager, is responsible for the strict and quick investigation on cases logged into the CRM tool and linked to Supply Chain perimeter (i.e. Order management, service, distribution, …).Transport Cost: Control warehousing supply chain costs and transport extra-costs for the zone. Joint negotiations with Imerys US Purchasing for freight rates for rail, barge and ocean container freight review and approve freight contracts for truck and intermodal transportation. Actively participate in the RAC Freight P&L control and monitoring through the supervision of the RAC Americas SC Manager (control of inland transportation costs, challenge of the Category manager, escalation to the RAC Americas SC manager for support …). Determine optimal rail car fleet requirements based on sales and raw materials demands; recommends to the commercial team the requirements and coordinates with Imerys Central Purchasing the requirements and jointly works to secure leased rail cars to support current and future sales.Projects: Lead local logistics studies. Manage and undertake projects and studies related to supply chain activities. Lead of or participate in transversal RAC Americas Supply Chain projects, through the supervision of the RAC Americas Supply Chain manager, with the other local Supply chain managers and following the RAC SC Roadmap.Regulations: Ensure that logistics related regulations are respected (customs, international trade…) in their zone.Tolling: (Time for the Group to define the targeted organization on toll blending products) The position ensures the coordination of 3 toll blenders in terms of replenishment, production schedule and distribution of the manufactured products.Relay and coordination: Is an active relay (top down and bottom up) between plant & SC network (shutdown preparation, short and mid term crisis plan …). Certified in CPSM preferred, a minimum of 10 years experience working in Supply Chain functions to include transportation, raw material and finished product management, distribution, logistics, imports/exports and customer service.Customer satisfaction related to supply chain activities; achievement of freight budget objectives; reduction of working capital through inventory managementKEY CHALLENGESMaintaining and development of new and existing strategies in support of customers, products, distribution and transportationManaging product and customer complexityManaging product shortages between Imerys operations and customersManaging transportation capacity and costs in a “Sellers” marketManaging many diverse but integrated personnel and functions within the Supply Chain groupStreamlining supply chain operations with the introduction of new ERP toolsADDITIONAL INFORMATIONThis position reports directly to the RAC Americas SC manager.This position works closely with BU Managers for Refractory and Business & Infrastructure, as well as with all Sales personnel within the 2 groups – both domestic and international.Some travel within the US and Canada will be necessary to meet colleagues from the RAC SC network or players of the network (customers, logistics partners,…).This position currently supervises the Transportation Manager, 2 Customer Service Representatives, 1 Distribution Coordinator, 1 Supply Chain Assistant and 1 Import Specialist. The department also includes a Transportation Specialist and Supply Chain Specialist who both report to the Transportation Manager.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position requires remaining in a seated position for long periods of time, the ability to pick, pinch or otherwise work primarily with fingers to operate keyboard for computer work. This position requires the employee to frequently walk, bend, stoop and have the ability to lift and or move up to 20 pounds and mostly works in an office or plant environment. This position is exposed to a cement and often dusty plant work environment and with contact with our product. Based on the hazards of working in a plant/industrial environment, this position requires alertness, the ability to think rationally while working on multiple tasks. This position needs the ability to express or exchange ideas, provide detailed spoken instructions by means of the spoken word to impact oral information to managers, suppliers, contractors, co-workers, direct reports or the public.
