Position : TFS Food Pantry Manager
Job Description : TFS FOOD PANTRY MANAGER
This position is responsible for managing NVE’s FDPIR and Food Bank Programs.
Team: Tribal Family Services Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Reports to: Tribal Family Services Director Schedule: Part-time, Regular
Salary Status: Non-Exempt from Overtime Last Revised: March 2022
Responsibilities/Duties
NVE Food Programs
Program Management & Reporting of FDPIR inventory and food delivery.
Program Management & Reporting of NVE’s Food Bank.
Maintain a clean, well ordered facility.
Organize and execute food distribution or delivery.
Order and receive food, stock shelves, and track inventory.
Utilize FIFO (first in, first out) inventory practices to minimize waste and maximize
quality control.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government regulations.
Responds to internal and external client needs in a timely and professional manner.
Attend trainings as needed or required.

Supports and facilitates positive interaction with clients, coworkers and public as evidenced

confidential information, and an appreciation of a variety of viewpoints and diversity in the
workplace.
Ability to work comfortably with people from various socio-economic, racial, and cultural
backgrounds.
Must have aptitude for helping people, displaying understanding and empathy towards clients
and others.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use all standard office equipment including computers, copiers, fax machines,
phones, and have the ability to learn new software.
Strong organizational and time management skills required.
Willingness and ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented office environment.
Ability to work with independently and with minimal supervision.
Certified in food handling safety standards desired (will provide training if needed).
Must possess AK Drivers License.
Reliability and Dependability are especially important for this position while still allowing
for flexibility in scheduling.
Education Requirement
High school diploma or equivalent. Food pantry management experience preferred but not
required.
Performance Standard
Regularly sit for long periods of time to enter data and otherwise complete work.
Regularly bend, move, crouch and move quickly for sustained periods of time indoors and
out in order to complete required activities.
Typically lifts 50 lbs to coordinate work.
Typically manipulates data electronically to complete tasks.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends when freight
arrival requires.
