Job Description : Jewish Family Service is a 129-year-old non-profit organization providing social services to individuals and families in the Jewish and greater communities of the Puget Sound region. We help people achieve well-being, health and stability.Jewish Family Service is seeking an Unaccompanied Youth Case Manager in the Refugee & Immigrant Services program. This full-time (37.5 hours/week) position is responsible for conducting thorough home assessments to support the safe and timely release of unaccompanied youth from Federal care. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that prioritizes clients’ needs and capabilities. Some evening and weekend work required. Must be able to pass FBI background check and a Child Abuse/Neglect check.RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct child-centered needs assessments and develop strengths-based, goal-orientated service plan to support youth and their sponsor.Provide comprehensive, trauma-informed and linguistically appropriate case management.Conduct in-person home visits to interview and provide psychoeducation to sponsors prior to the release of a youth into their care. Support children and sponsor to cope with family reunification stressorsDeliver tailored psychoeducation and orientation sessions to children and sponsors on relevant topics.Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the Office of Refugee Resettlement’s Home Study and Post Release Services program and stay informed of programmatic updates and training opportunities.Create data and narrative program reports on grant and client outcomes and programmatic successes.Collaborate across agency programs to ensure client and agency goals are met.Develop and maintain partnerships with local governance, community based organizations, social service agencies, refugee community leaders and other key stakeholders around the Puget Sound to facilitate a welcoming receiving community for unaccompanied immigrant youth. Provide referrals to clients, as needed in areas such as legal, education, medical and mental health.Develop and maintain knowledge on best practices in providing trauma-informed case management to youth.Monitor the safety and well-being of children including but not limited to indications of trafficking and abuse and neglect. Serve as a mandated reporter and work with child welfare as needed.QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of two years of work experience providing trauma-informed case management to children and youth, family reunification/preservation and/or child welfare/foster care.Minimum of one year of work experience providing direct services to refugee & immigrant communities.Minimum education of a bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral science.Knowledge of best practices in trauma-informed case management for youth and families.Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment and work with diverse and collaborative teams.A mission-driven desire to work in a direct service environment supporting people from diverse cultural backgrounds and low-income communities, with a strong commitment to teamwork.Strong English writing skills to ensure effective case file maintenance.Excellent cultural competency and cross-cultural communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate with people who are preliterate and/or learning English.Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.Must be able to travel frequently and independently within relevant region.Valid Washington State driver’s license and insurance as well as a personal vehicle.SALARY AND BENEFITS: The starting pay for this position is $26.10 – 29.45/hour.Jewish Family Service offers a generous benefits package including:100% employer-paid premiums for employee medical, dental, life insurance, long-term disability, and employee assistance program.15 annual vacation days increasing to 20 after 2 years, and generous paid sick time.Paid Federal holidays and 10 additional flexible floating holidays accessible throughout the year.5% employer contribution to 401k retirement plan (no employee contribution required).Relocation stipend.Additional benefits include: vision coverage and FSA enrollment.JFS values and provides opportunities for continued growth and learning for all team members.Please submit both a cover letter and resume NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.
