Job Description : CLASSIFICATION TITLE: WELLNESS COORDINATORPURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATIONThe purpose of the Wellness Coordinator is to promote, administer, and manage all aspects of the Clayton County Be Safe Be Well Wellness Program. Primarily, this position is focused on quality of life for our employees and retirees. Additionally, our focus includes maintaining reasonable, competitive cost without sacrificing quality of benefits and services.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.Under general supervision, plans, designs, implements, and evaluates the initiatives of Clayton County Be Safe Be Well Wellness Program. Clayton County Be Safe Be Well Wellness Program is guided by the 7 Dimensions of Wellness {physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, financial, environmental, and social}. All wellness related initiatives and programs are planned around these dimensions.Plans and designs wellness programs and activities.Coordinates and works with the Office of the Chief Staff Attorney to ensure that programs and activities are within constitutional laws.Coordinates and works with Department Heads and/or liaisons to promote wellness programs and activities.Works with local municipalities and small businesses to promote wellness activities and programs.Establishes and coordinates an internal Benefits Committee for the purpose of improving participation, communication, and involvement among employees and retirees.Partners with Department Heads and/or liaisons regarding wellness initiatives and programs with a focus on employee wellbeing.Conducts assessments and surveys to determine the effectiveness of Clayton County Be Safe Be Well Wellness Program.Assists the Human Resources Director and consultant to manage and monitor the wellness budget to ensure accurate allocations, documentation, and reporting.Utilizes data to develop and implement evidence-based programs and activities.Develops, implements, and facilitates educational presentations and training programs.Stays abreast of current local, state, and national wellness initiatives.Develops a network of resources and contacts to expand the Be Safe Be Well Wellness Program.Manages the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) program.ADDITONAL FUNCTIONSPerforms other related duties as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Workforce Development, Education, or any other closely related field of study and 3 three years’ experience in human resources management, which includes managing a specific human resources function; OR an Associate’s Degree in the afore-mentioned fields of study and six years or experience in human resources management that included managing a specific human resources function; OR any combination of education, knowledge, skills, or experience to effectively carry out the essential duties of the job.ADA COMPLIANCEPhysical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert very moderate physical work in moderate to light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (10-30 pounds).Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals.
