Job Description : 2021 Strategic Planning for Tribal Orgs in Sitka, Alaska
Sitka AmeriCorps Program mission is to mitigate the effects of high ACEs scores prevalent in rural Alaskan communities, through developmental relationships and enrichment activities.• Support the Early Childhood Coalition develop and execute programming designed to engage preschool aged children. This position will: • Coalesce and align current preschool programming, cooperating with community partners to consolidate effort. • Develop comprehensive strategic plan for family engagement and design effective system to spread information. • Develop outreach programming and promote of the value of early childhood education. • Clarify and improve flow of communication between partners and families. • Develop goal setting and bench-mark tools with the coalition members and families to meet identified early childhood needs. • Develop programming and resources designed to enable home based childcare providers to deliver quality education for preschool children. • Develop comprehensive strategic plan for physical location and facility operations for Wooch.een Head Start Preschool to support long-term sustainability of the program. • Participate and observe programming on-site at Wooch.een Head Start Preschool, working closely with teachers from the three primary partner agencies: Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (CCTHITA) Head Start, Sitka Tribe of Alaska (STA), and Sitka School District (SSD). • Serve all partner agencies by providing a liaison role and identifying resources and solutions to reach the goal of sustainability for Wooch.een Head Start Preschool.
