Job Description : Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity (TRIE)
Position Title: Administrative Coordinator
Job ID Number: 34646

Background:

The Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity (TRIE) was launched in April 2020 in response to the

disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on communities of color. The Taskforce brings together over 100 City

Agency leaders – primarily of color – from 67 agencies and offices, working collectively to prioritize and drive

resources to the communities of color and neighborhoods hardest-hit by COVID-19 and increase equity for all

New Yorkers.

Since launching, TRIE has advanced new initiatives ranging from accelerating broadband access, to new

programs and policy initiatives to support M/WBE contracting. TRIE initiatives have resulted in over $380M in

new investment, targeting communities that have experienced long-standing inequities.

To ensure equity remains central to the City’s recovery and overall operations, TRIE is now a permanent

office within the Office of the Mayor. As an Office, TRIE will advance practices and policies that seek to

dismantle structural racism in city government and in city programs that serve New Yorkers. TRIE will

continue to serve as a convening body for City Agency leaders to develop and launch new initiatives that will

help create a more equitable city.

Position Description:

TRIE seeks a dynamic Administrative Coordinator to provide direct support to the Executive Director and

office.

Key Duties:

• Provide direct administrative support to the Executive Director, including managing scheduling,
correspondence, preparing materials, and other related administrative duties
Maintain updated records, files, contact lists, and other data sets for TRIE
Manage external inquiries through a variety of communication channels
Provide tactical and administrative support for TRIE convenings, events, subcommittee meetings,
and other large forums
Working in collaboration with the Operations Manager, support employee onboarding and
orientation
Regularly coordinate routine HR, IT, space, security, and other requests for TRIE
Opportunity to lead special projects across TRIE initiatives
Perform other related duties incidental to the work listed above

Education and Experience Preferred:

• High School diploma (or high school equivalency) and 3+ years administrative
and/or operations experience
Interest in racial equity and addressing socio-economic, health, gender, and other disparities
Familiarity working within City government preferred
Experience working effectively in a fast-paced environment
Skills Desired:

• Entrepreneurial problem solver, strategic thinker, with exception organizational skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong attention to detail
Mastery of MS Office and flexibility to learn other products, as required
Prior lived and/or work experience in “hard-hit” neighborhoods preferred
